  • Notice in the report describes JFK and Nixon activities but SHOWS Ike. The slant is to Nixon of course. I agree, the 1960, 50 years later, is the defining one of the era. Jfk's election - and particularly his murder - has all you need to know.

  • By 1960, CBS News didn't know what to do with Bob Trout. He was still widely known and admired from his World War II CBS radio news reports. Trout wanted to switch to television, but CBS had Doug Edwards anchoring the Evening News and Walter Cronkite for live coverage and prime time news shows. So CBS stuck him on their local New York newscasts.
