  • I always work backwards with bands' music for some reason. Their first album I got was only revolutions. I tried to get into their old stuff, but it just wasnt happening for some reason, and I was getting annoyed because I knew it was good music ! The way it changed from light to heavy, clean to distorted, catchy hooks. But for some reason it didnt happen for me.

But Im sooo glad I kept with it, cause their old stuff is soooo much better than their new music, and they are now my favourite band.

  • I don't like the screaming. I love the time signature/key changes though. Fantastic.

  • @StupidNutter I dunno, I still much prefer the older stuff. Song's like TGR and 9/15ths are on the better side of the new stuff and whilst still good, they don't quite compare to what Biffy use to be. Now I worry that the next album, much like OR, will be filled with songs that are designed to be singles that your grandparents would love. But if it's true what they are saying about the next album being a double album, then I cannot see why Biffy cannot just try and cater to fans of new and old

  • I've never understood the argument between new Biffy and old!? It's ALL incredible! And just because that x-factor bloke covered 'Many Of Horror' doesn't make the last two albums redundant! Can you imagine him covering '9/15ths' or 'That Golden Rule'?!

  • @Gemisx agreed!!!! sold out only applies to coldplay :D

  • Awful trousers, Simon, awful.

  • This is SO awesome

  • @Szaam selling out is making records with limitations in return for much more money. its pretty obvious how they have changed, after the third album they got a new producer. the one they had before gave them pretty much a free role. this new one seems to have more control. heard the demo to the captain? it was similar to their old original stuff, the biffy i love. the single though is totally toned down, tamed - producer control. still love them though just for their first 3 albums.

  • "Selling out is making the record you're TOLD to make, rather than the one you WANT to make."

I don't think Biffy ever did this.

  • simon neil is so nom nom :D

  • @TheRossaMurray nah, dying's far too mainstream
