From Their 1981 Album Architecture & Morality.

Lyrics:

This is the room, this is the wall

This is the body I've been hoping for

These are the words I've been longing just to say

So this is my goal, the end of my life

This is the feeling that won't be amassed

Oh my God what have I done this time

Oh my God what have I done this time

The things that you find, the [tug at the sky]

The feeling, the longing, the very [respine]

Oh my God what have we done this time

Oh my God what have we done this time (this time yeah)

  • @1965raj Um, Dazzle Ships?

  • @dkthg I literally mean, a band called "The Sound" =O) They are/were awesome... Some of their popular songs are called "Winning" "Sense Of Purpose" "New Dark Age" man, there's loads of good stuff. Never heard a dud track from them. "New Dark Age" is quite Joy Division-y...

  • @nickthelick the sound of the band?

  • I can definately hear an Eno influence in the guitars and noise effects, great song!

  • 1965raj fucking spot on,I bought this album on release and thought they'd go on to do brilliantly, but alas your spot on about the turtlenecks, funny as fuck by the way...

  • If you like this and The Cure, for fucks sake - check out THE SOUND! As in, The Sound, the band!

  • Just to put everybody straight, this song is very reminiscent of The Cure circa. 1980/1981. Nothing wrong with that, and it may be purely coincidental. Fact is, many bands operating in the post-punk period played around with similar ideas and sounds. To claim OMD as "more experimental" than The Cure during this period has no value whatsoever. A large number of bands then were, by default or design, "experimental". After this album, however, OMD experimented more with turtlenecks than music.

  • Yes kids we were once very worried about the coming nuclear war.

  • excuse the lingo but fcking amazing the best band in the world love their stuff.....

  • OMD are brilliant! This is a fantastic sound for when it was recorded! Way way way ahead of their time!!
