Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (PS2) - Sarah vs Akira

Here's some footage of a tournament I joined in Coimbra, Portugal (2007). This is the finals and even though I (asmoon) won this set, the Akira (skryba) player eventually made a comeback and I had to settle for second place. It was a great and close fight since we were both evenly matched.

sadly, there was no cash prize. but the tourny was heck lot of fun. I just wished more people continue to play VF4: Evo as I prefer it to VF5.

How come? Didn't VF5 improve on what VF4: Evo did? Sorry, I'm curious because I own VF5, but have never played Evo

VF5 made some minor improvements in graphics but overall gameplay wasn't really better. The also changed the okizeme and few other minor tweaks which messed the flow.

Sega has a long history of being the innovator. They pioneered the 3D fighting genre and introduced ranking system and character customizations which many games now follow.

Neither game copied the other, noob. Tekken and Virtua Fighter play very differently from each other.

vf4 evo has to be the best game in its genre. all the others are okay. the kind of approach i use is no gaurding but taking the offensive. if i ever use gaurd i lose. thats why im 90-2 with lau, 23-o with lei, and 25-0 with jacky.
