This is Federal 3T22 at the Waco VFD in Waco North Carolina. This siren used to be ran on a AF timer but is now being ran with a new Federal controller. The siren is being ran on 120 volts.

  • @Droideka133 you have a point man. But im sure that you can hear that thing at least a whole mile, you can hear a damn car horn in 1/4th mile.

  • @Droideka133 nope, even half voltage, it can still go up to around a mile.

  • sound like a damper is closed?

  • that single phase or three phase siren ?

    Nice Recording 3T22

  • Dude, are they idiots? No offence, but the 3T22 HAS to be on its full voltage to really work like a siren, or the sound won't even go half of a 1/4 of a mile. DUH

  • Nice Recording of that 3T22,Dude!

  • And people thought this model siren sounded eerie before...

  • it sounds pretty cool like this!

  • @TheLakemillsfire It's running slow because it's a single phase version running on half of the required voltage (it's a 240V siren running on 120V). From what I've heard about what happens when they try to run it on 240V, the brushes in the motor are set too far advanced with the angle of commutation, causing it to spin too fast and burn up.

  • it needs some work winds up slow needs to be refurbished
