I'm in a bagpipe-music kind of mood tonight, and I keep finding these videos from this guy, all labeled "Scottish Bagpipes," and there are never any freaking BAGPIPES in the music! Knock that shit off!
@Rikki0 Beside, how can you go on a crusade against the pipes when you realize that we Americans ( which I am quite proud to be ) gave the world "Rap Music"? Music? Aaaah. Now THERE is something worth banning by international treaty.
Well, acr08807 as an American it took me a bit of time, but I find the pipes are quite suitable to certain themes. They can be quite inspirational as in " Highland Laddie" or " Black Bear" both of which are listed on the list to the right. As they always have something of a mournful aire about them they are excellent for laments such as " Flowers of the Forest ". And of course the most requested bagpipe tune in the world is " Amazing Grace". I give the pipes their due.
Pipes may be a little bit irritating but not infernal. they were used as a form of intimidation during war time because the enemy were not used to the skirling of the pipes and knew that they did not want to face these "Ladies from Hell" in battle
I'm not listening to the infernal skirling of the pipes. There isn't a single pipe playing in this vid. Maybe that's why you don't know how godawful is the sound of the bagpipe. Do yourself a favor, and don't find out for yourself. It's really torture.
I am posting because I am agitating for the banning of the bagpipe by international treaty. It would be better than the eradication of bird flu. Unlike you, however, I am able to express my opinions without all of the childish insults.

@Rikki0 They are most effective as signal to the enemy of our approach. Not that I'm not talking from personal experience though.

However, some of us like listening to things that are an acquired taste

I can see your point. I'd surrender to the highlanders too, just to make that awful noise stop.

Sorry, for a second I didn't realize that you're not TheKhaliff. That explains why there were no childish insults in your post.
My apologies, meredithbryan.
