This shows you how to import your Google Earth image and surface, but it also shows you how to make that image come in in color. Also includes a quick tip on creating a slope analysis exhibit.

  • I briefly looked into it. Does it work with Civil 3D or just AutoCAD? Have you used it before? What do you think?

  • @ProSoftCAD Yes, it does work perfectly with Civil 3D. I have the 64-bit version.

I do road design and I mostly use the "Path" feature to bring images in a band along the centerline. It imports terrain points on any grid (not only for the current view of Google Earth).

A couple of days ago, I've read in a post (Autodesk C3D forum) that with it's latest release is possible to import KML. I was looking for this, but I haven't found the time yet to check it out and tell you.

  • Have you heard about the Plex.Earth add-on?
