My first day out filming with my newest camera, the Panasonic AG-AC130. I was very interested in seeing the cinematic potential of this camera after seeing very few videos up using this new camera from Panasonic. There were even less samples up that were color graded. "Requis" was really the only sample I could find but it was the catalyst to drive my interest as Sebastian Wiegärtner did a great job. So, if your one of those people that is in the same boat I was in, curious about the camera and how it holds up in post, here is some footage for ya. Thanks for viewing.

I dedicated this video to Johnny Cash because he was the man! This song lyrics nailed it for me. That's why I live where I do out here in the woods of north Florida. Hope you guys enjoy it.

great video! thanks for sharing. we just bought this camera a month ago and we're working on making the transition from full auto to full manual.

we're finding that the depth of color isn't so great on auto and are looking for a more, 'rich' feel with our colors.

can you offer any advice on settings, or a link to some reference material?

    thanks again!

Hey thanks buddy. I checked out your video (Pro-Touring '67 Camaro LS2 -"Project OverClock") and love it. What kind of stabilization are you using for those shots?

The Best advice I can recommend for getting some killer looks out of that cam is get the BARRY GREEN AG-AC160/130 book. It comes with a cd that has 24 great looks right out of the gate. Also, I color grade with MAGIC BULLETS.

I am sorry, are you asking if it is good or not for filmmaking or just commenting that you are going to buy one?

I feel it is capable. I think I have been able to achieve a lot of cinematic looks with it after color grading. It is an excellent all purpose camera. I will say however that most films are filmed with a camera with a interchangeable lens system. DSLR's being the cheapest way to get into the environment. The Camera I actually just ordered soon to come for the purpose of specifically a film is the Sony FS700. Sony FS100 is a cheaper alternative than the FS700. All this gets pretty pricey though.

Hey, thanks for checking it out. I have a Trans Am promotional video I did a month ago that was almost all shot on the AC-130 as well if interested to see more what the cam can do. All heavily color graded but the AVCHD codec holds up pretty dang well.

Thanks! It does both Interlaced and Progressive. Progressive is what I always prefer to use. However, depending on the specific broadcast station you might get to do work for, the two standards for tv is 1080i or 720p. You can achieve that decision in post as well though if a particular network needs it. This was filmed with a doctored up scene file I made on my first attempt using the cam. I then heavily color graded in post as I like to do with all my stuff. I love grading! It is just fun.
