What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

@n800064447 Accepting God allows christians to refute reason. The nature of the supernatural is beyond understanding. God is supernatural, and therefore beyond understanding. Heck, the bible even says so. This is the core of their belief, and impervious to the reasoning of man. Even should you destroy every argument they create as 'proof', they've already made up their mind that something exists beyond knowledge. This is faith, the very antithesis to reason.

I find it a bit ironic for christians like this caller who claim to think about the challenges raised by atheists seriously and strengthen their beliefs by it...if they have seriously thought about it and still leave with a strong conviction, then they are still not thinking critically and continue to be self deluded, all the while claiming to have defeated the arguments because they've 'thought about it'.

The catch phrases of thousands of faiths. Pay attention to that number "thousands", that's why we don't take things on faith, we need proof.

""I simply have to much information to ever truly believe"" that isn't a bad thing if you keep an open mind, the more doubts you have, the more astonish you will be when you can answer all of them if you see the light. The key is not to close your heart and mind to the possibility.
