This music is such a guilty treat. A nice popular use of the Cage prepared piano that was anchored in the fun aspects of instrumental easy listening. They were noted for this up until the early 60's when they changed directions and added orchestras (Don Costa comes to mind). Recently, Arthur Ferrante passed away as well...
I have thoroughly enjoyed the music of Ferrante and Teicher for many years. Saw them numerous times in concert. Such talent. They didn't just play the ivories but used the whole piano as their "play field". I always remember the time at Mercy College in Detroit where they even used toy pianos in their concert and made music on them. You two were certainly blessed with talent. Thank you for sharing your talent. Rest in peace Mr. Teicher.
I first heard this song around 1995 on "The Lounge Show" on KOOP radio in Austin, Texas. The song originally dates from 1958, and it was (and remains) a very cool song!
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to that piece and wondered how it was done. I am still amazed at how easy they make it look while at the same time being very technical. Simply amazing.
