  • Yea, they really are - this Mojavensis subspecies has a brilliant pink-ish red underside with a bold black and white pattern on top. In the field, the females fly in the later afternoon and look like red fireballs when lit-up by the evening sun. Really spectacular bugs. :-)

  • The moths take a full year to go through their complete life cycle. I've been raising this species for several years to get all the video of the entire cycle. This wing expanding process only takes a few (10) minutes or so. :D
