I am glad you have mentioned this idea. when I begane the Jester Quest project I had no idea how to cast metal or how the project would develope, however I am now colaborating with an artist from Minsk who casts in metal using a technique derived from the anchient Baltic Tribes. So keep an eye on this space for a new youtube film to be posted 2010 "Jester Quest 2" announcing the London treasure hunt!
Dr Cream, if finance permitting, if you were to cast 1 of these figures in silver or bronze and get the media on board you could cause quite a stir amongst street artworks!! I seem to recall a childrens book with a quest to locate a jewellery Hare hidden somewhere in the UK, the clue s were paintings & riddles, it attracted a massive media reponce over 30 years ago !!
Thank you for your generous comment. My plan for this project is to create art that is a link to past in its method of manufacture but has its feet in the future with its link to the internet. It can give a tangible interactive experience to anybody who photographs these concrete cookies and has their photograph published in newspapers on websites or by broadcasters.
If these sculptures are chess figures then this might be one of the most amazing chess sets in history. Your project might even be compared as a miniature version of those terracotta warriors discovered in china.
