Catholic youth party .. while children starve.

http://www.whilechildrenstarve.org/

One child dies, every 5 seconds, from hunger.

One CATHOLIC child dies, every 30 seconds, from hunger.

The "Holy" Roman Catholic Church is the wealthiest religion, and the wealthiest organisation, on the planet.

The RCC has stated its budget for WYD08 in Sydney is "at least $100 million" (Sydney Morning Herald). Based on early bookings at July 2007, it will get back more than $45 million on its investment from "pilgrim" registration fees alone ..

"As a senior American member of the Curia said to me, 'We are talking product. The Catholic faith is the best product in the world. Of course you have to market it. If you want to sell any product you have to market it.'"
(David Yallop - The Power and The Glory, 2007) http://www.yallop.com/david-yallop.aspx

Over 90% of WYD pilgrims are from countries ranked "high income" and "upper middle income" by the World Bank. They will spend over $300 million .. on airfares alone .. to attend WYD08. Once in Australia, they will spend a further $196 million during the 6 day event (Sydney Convention & Visitors Bureau estimate).

WYD is for rich kids .. while children starve.

If the RCC actually obeyed the teachings of Christ - "Sell ALL that you have, and give to the poor" - world poverty and hunger would cease.

Instead, "Mother" Church happily gets ever richer. While millions of children ... including millions of her own ... STARVE to death.

  • Hypocrite??

    This video is completely unreasonable

did you make one of these when the olympics was on?

For caring about starving children..bless you!

But for calling catholics Hypocrites and telling people not to support WYD 08...Fuk you!

    Catholics are people too, okay!!

This video has no credit, and you have just wasted your time in brainwashing people to be against catholics!

    YOU HYPOCRITE!!

  • Hmmmm. I wonder if Jesus said "Fuk you!" to people who thought the wealthy should use their money to help the poor, rather than on enjoying themselves? You know .. the Jesus who said "Sell all that you have and give to the poor" ... and "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth".

I'll go take another look in the Gospels for Jesus' example of saying "Fuk you!" ..

  • Now let me just ask you one thing. I wonder what your take is on my opinion earlier. Do you not think saving souls is more important than our bodies. You say I don't know how many people will come to Christ. That's true I don't. But they are not all already Catholic but invited by friends.

  • "OUR" bodies?! Who made you God and gave you the right to decide FOR OTHER PEOPLE .. WHO ARE STARVING .. that "saving souls" is more important than a meal to save their life?!

WYD08 is for 1st World Catholics whose souls are already "saved" & have never missed a meal in their entire "blessed" lives. WYD08 will not save ANY 3rd World child's soul .. OR their life. That's my whole #$@!! point! While you are enjoying WYD08, 166,000 children will starve to death without your gospel or your food.

  • i agree that we should ALWAYS devote more time and energy to the disadvantaged. Thank you for being a voice to this fact. Yet, as a catholic who is attending WYD and who is devoted to the economoc and social empowerment of many suffering communities in Kenya and surrounding countries, i find it hard to swallow your anti catholic views.

  • i feel sorry for these children... please everone help them!!

  • We live in an era of mass stupidity! People listen to a man, who lives in the grandest palace and controls the greatest accumulation of wealth and riches in the world, lecture them on not being materialistic and then they give him their money. I posted a video on this too and can not believe how many dumbasses there are in this world! Catholic Youth Day is just one big "marketing" effort by this Pope and his money hungry church to keep recruiting more dumbasses for their money!

  • it has a good point, but people are greedy (I know i am) and I would rather spend on the money on an overseas trip then spend it on a charity i have no control over where my money goes. Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for these kids, in fact, my family gives money to a refugee camp, but those starving kids won't effect me tonight or tomorrow and I'll soon forget about them. I think the problem is, people just arn't exposed enough, they just don't care

  • I like the message here. 90% of catholics are hypocrites, going to church every sunday, praying to jesus and not giving much of a shit about the rest of the world or the people in it is more than enough to call yourself a catholic. Watching videos like this and saying "aww I feel really bad for these kids" then going to your fridge and stuffing your face is not good enough

  • How many Palaces does the Pope live in?

  • blind submission

  • I'm not Catholic, but I'm not anti-Catholic. The youth gathering is a good thing. The youth are the future of the church and the world. Pick on something else...like the need for birth-control, the need for non-corrupt governments, and the need for increased humanitarian efforts. The noble humility of Jesus should be evident in all church activities. This does not preclude pomp and ceremony...but some of the lavish clothing and pompous titles make me wonder if Jesus is impressed and approves...

  • we are not hypocrites

  • i aggree with that video but i am still a roman catholic and will never change i am still going to world youth day 08 SYDENEY yEAH

  • Gerrison16 it is good to hear you are questioning your faith as taught to you so far - but be prepared for the answers! The Catholic Church is a path to Jesus - don't forget He is what life is all about. Use His life as the yard-stick to measure your life and the church's activities by & you'll find His answers in the Bible. Then go out and feed the people who need you - with food or your time/effort. That is what being a Christian is all about. DOING is essential, not just talking about it...
