First off I would love to take this time to thank my friends at MARIJUANAMUSCLE.COM for their support in competing in this competition!!!

Casca Grossa 144.9 intermediate divison 3 to 5 years experience.
THE PLAY BY PLAY:
This was some footage from Casca Grossa. As you can see I pull right into guard immediatly and go for rubber guard/ mission control. His arms are in tight in the Trex position so then I start to work from crack head control and try for a mission pump arm bar but he almost pulls out so then to establish crack head control again and zombie his arm adn immediatly going for double bagger control and then to new york position. I then go for the go go plata and stall in that position looking for the straight jacket, he almost gives it to me but then falls into the go go plata. I release my leg to move for the loco plata with my right leg but then he passes that leg and I bail out into the carni but im just not able to put his weight where it needs to be so I drop into half guard and work for my sweeps. He trys to darce from my lock down half guard but I pull the Old School sweep and as Im moving to pull mount he is able to sweep me back over to guard position(this will not happen next time!!!!). THen he actually pulls an illegal neck crank and the ref decides to stop the action and reset us into guard. So then after an attempt by him to break my guard by rolling me over(im way to flexible for that trash) I then proceed to dominate him some more by pulling him back into my rubber guard/ double bagger position to new york then go go plata and the time runs out right before his head exploded from the pressure. Finished with a bronze not bad, but every match is a new learning experience and Im working my way to the top. so watch out for me!

I have been working it hard!!!!! Thanks again for the phone conversation....it has changed my training for the better!

  • so he won why? because he was on top not doing anything?

  • that is exactly what I said! I mean there is no doubt this kid should be haunted by what i did to him every night before he goes to sleep but yet that BS happens. I had him wrapped up and all he could do was struggle. Next guy is not getting off that easy. Im doing a sub. only comp. at the end of this month. I cant wait!

  • When he was defending the gogoplata you should've put the sorceror on his ass!

  • Good rubber guard work. He beat you because he got the 'takedown' and stayed on top. Thats the way a lot of tournaments work. Even though you appeared to be utilizing more technique, he still maintained dominant position. Next time finish the match with a sub and you'll win for sure!

  • tip from rubber guard. is maintain the underhook. grabbing overhand doesnt work as well also if you cant work the gogoplata by turning your hips to the right if your using ur left leg to try the gogo. you should see the omoplata. just make sure you can clear your other leg. another option is throw your other leg over ur opponents head and you will see on your own that there are several attacks from that position. try it out next time you are rollin.

  • He won by advantage. The final score was 0-0 but the guy on top got to half guard at one time during the match, which counts as an advantage. I agree with the poster that he should have gotten at least a couple of advantages for all the work he was doing in guard--especially for the gogoplata attempt at the end.

  • You remind me of me, except you're better.

  • Good work man, solid rubber guard...yeah the only thing that sucks about rubber guard in competition sometimes is that you have to finish with a submission because the jiu-jitsu community at large hasn't yet realized what a dominant position the rubber guard really is, and the points could work against you. 10th planet and the rubber guard game= revolution

  • what bracket did you enter in? GOOD RUBBER GUARD! bring your left arm over your knee as soon as you kung fu in the double bagger. it will be easier on your flexibility and get you closer so you can hide your foot for the straight jacket.
