Did you, Mrs B., also do the reading of the original (it can be heard in the background and it is read by a female voice)?

High school British literature teacher here--this will definitely be in my lesson plans to show as a preview of the text (and if they don't like it, I'll make them create their own at the end of the unit. Heck, I'll make them create one regardless!). Brilliant. Thank you for the upload.

Hwaet! Leornungcwen matholode, wordhord unlaec! (Loosely translated, "Listen up! The female scholar spoke, unlockd her word-hoard!) As a lapsed Anglo-Saxon scholar, author of a humongous unpublished dissertation on Beowulf translation, I am filled with admiration for your creative "dynamic equivalence" translation.

You're too late. Apparently, she married the luckiest man on earth. The luckiest man in history! And... As far as we know, he appreciates her. Ans is apparently quite a guy. You may need a lot of money, a lot of skill, talent, love, brains, education, and looks, to even get noticed...

Two of my favorite things...Beowulf and Nena brought together in song. Apparently anything is possible in the Universe! Thanks very much for this very surprising combination. Great fun!

You may want to Google Amy Burvall as well.... Search Youtube for her TEDx Honolulu Video, and her educational videos. She is also on Facebook as "History for Music Lovers", and Tweets as "HistoryTeacherz". She is also on Soundcloud (just songs, no video). Another interesting person is Keith (Hip) Hughes. And in Twitter look for AnaCristinaPrts . A wealth of various resources.

They did it in Hawaii. Google Amy Burvall & Herb Mahelona for more info on them. Mr.H has some powerful video editing software. They are also on Facebook as History for Music Lovers. Search for amy&herb on Twitter.

You are most welcome. If you like HER voice, then search HER on Soundcloud! Ah: Crusades! My friend Mikael (Sweden), & I find that, voice-wise, to be 1 of HER greatest videos. In terms of costumes: Its Revolution. Of course, we love Trojan Wars!. You may also be interested in Hip Hughes History on Youtube. He doesn't sing, though. And surely you know The History teachers are on Facebook & Twitter! If you need help finding them or other resources, do not hesitate to contact me. Take care.

Thanks for pointing me towards this post. I used to be a teacher and trained teachers at university more than a decade ago. I really like their approach and the video on their background is really interesting. And yes, Mrs B. has a dozen voices! My most favourite of her vocal exercises is "The Crusades".

And so... Beowulf was Irish? [ ... Actually, he was probably a good Norwegian! ;-}' .... A certain Swedish man will read this, and reply for you.... ]

And if you have heard her real voice (Google Amy Burvall & TEDx Honolulu) She sounds nothing like that voice. She seems to have a dozen voices!
