This requires one person to push one leg towards the head while another person holds down the other leg. This painful stretch is done regularly to increase flexibility for splits and kicks.
ouch that hurts alot and u Chinese or Japanese ppl should really not hurtv the kids in an flexebilty streching because i saw a video that the kids are realy hurtfull and wanna cry i was gonna cry too
@superkarl2008 noooo you should never have any coach forcefully push through your limit. Getting those splits down should not be forced, or otherwise injuries such as tears and pulls are very likely. You should get a sweet pain from stretching, and not a pain that makes you cry. No pain no gain is a very terrible term when it comes to flexibility training. I would call it no "patience" no gain. Looks as though your coach was terribly impatient and doesn't know how to stretch you.
This is good, don't believe in some of those scientific streching method. If you wanna do splits, you should stretch beyond the pain you can sustain. No pain no gain. When I was young, my coach pushed me down and hold it like... 15 minutes, soon after one week, I can do splits easily. I suffered a great amount of pain, tears flushing through my eyes, but flexibility really gained.

One should only stretch as to another level of pain he/she can sustain.. overstretching will tear some tendons and muscles.. be careful..
