  • It's true, CONFIRMED! I work in squash club and we have small collection of junior racquets (e.g. Karakal CSX-Junior). When I play and need to "attack the nick" i use short grip and i feel it's better. When I need superior power then i'm using longer grip and it makes my shot more powerfull.

  • Interesting. I have played for a long time with a REALLY short grip, for the reasons expertvillage mentions (viz. half my hand is on the racquet shaft) but I've never thought of adjusting it to longer mid-rally. It seems to introduce more risks than benefits, but might be something to try.
