  • I'd like to incorporate this into my next workout plan... at best I'm around ~100kg power clean.. what do you think would be a good weight to be in for these?

  • During this particular program, I've use various weights ranging from 90%-120% of my best CLEAN. So relatively speaking, if your power clean is 100, your clean is somewhere from 110-130kg depending the efficiency of your technique. If you're just putting these in, start on the lower end and try to build up the base.

  • Thanks man! I've been searching for some vids witgh this exercise, and here it is!

  • No problem. Although, if you're planning on doing this exercise try keeping your ass down during take off (mine is coming up a little bit before I push with my legs - they were done after heavy squats.) There's also Fast Clean Pulls which have lower % of intensity (less weight on the bar) than Heavy Clean Pulls above but done at greater velocity. Hope that helps.

  • fail this is more of a deadlift with an unnecessary shrug

  • A clean the Bar goes up to nipple level.

It's one of the tutorials that eventually becomes the Snatch.

  • Yeah, I think you're supposed to jump with a clean pull. Its a clean pull, just may not be the best form. May have a bit too much weight.

  • But, if you look at the technique of all the top lifters nowadays and through history they all rise up on the toes.

  • The power you generate pulls you off the ground...you lose a base of support when you go up on the toes

  • just a lazy clean pull

  • Isn't this a clean pull? when you deadlift and shrug?!

  • so basically this is a sort of quick shrug, a cheat shurg of sorts.
