    after exd6.. don't you think that illescas, in order to save his queen, could have played Bxc4? giving away his bishop and losing the game anyway, for sure.. but

    what do you think illescas would have done after exd6? 0-0.. hoping that kasparov wouldn't see the combination or Bxc4 (taking for granted)?

  • It would have been a fast resignation I think - Bxc4 just loses a piece. You can't just be a piece down for nothing in Linares.
