Tim Conway is a national treasure. And to think it all started with ENS Parker! The Carol Burnette Show would have been nothing without him (and Harvey Korman and Lyle Waggoner of course, who could NEVER keep a straight face around him)

Actually, with Tim It started in his home area of Cleveland, doing skits with Ernie Anderson on a WJW-TV Morning movie show..Rose Marie (Dick Van Dyke Show) saw him and recommended him to Steve Allen to appear on Allen's show, which led to McHales Navy..The story goes that Tim had to be fired from Channel 8 to take a chance on Hollywood..Of course, the rest is history.
