there is no central figure planning all of this. its the market. entertainment sells well so the market makes more. Do you think its only the poor and middle class that stay asleep by spending and spending? Rich people are even more hedonistic.

if amusement parks and entertainment are all under one masterminded plot to control people, I wonder what would happen if there was no super master conspiracy and people just made entertainment venues in order to entertain people who wanted to be entertained. What would that look like?

I used to live in a house with a tv that had hundreds of channels.
When I moved into my apartment, I could not afford cable.
I have been unplugged for quite sometime and I would not want to go back.
Television is a damn waste of time.
If you want the news, read a newspaper.
If you want entertainment, go outside.

Bealle's message is clear and it's not a conspiracy theory.
He's just saying that people need to stop taking their news from the TV because the TV is an entertainment machine, funded by advertisers, to consume your money, your time, and your brain.

Thank you for injecting some sanity into this discussion.
Government has been funding public education ever since Horace Mann developed a statewide system of schooling based on the Prussian model in 1837. To claim that education has deteriorated in the past few years because of public funding doesn't even amount to a post hoc fallacy.
Anyone who wants to fix education could do so very easily. Ensure parents can spend time with their children without losing their jobs.
