  • @umeshnair786

you must be one of those people that think all cma's are striking arts

  • If Wing Chun and Judo had offspring it'd look sort of like this...trust me, I went to college KML.

  • whats with the dislikes?

  • I am studying 8 Step Preying Mantis in Hamburg, NY (BUFFALO). I wish there were more videos showcasing this great system!

  • If you sink into your stances, these techniques all become much more plausible. They are all great techniques, but in the video they look like part of a form done by low level students. Sink into your steps and use your legs then abs to fling your arms into position. Otherwise, the attacks will all be powerless & the throws simply will not work unless you get very lucky.

  • this is not kungfu for sure. it is basically mixed martial arts. .... anyways nice work,

  • @41312111 ive been doing mantis for 8 years now so yea very long time, however they dont train u the same way anymore most school will pass u on to the next level with a mediocre understanding of the basics

  • This is a demo, training is ugly, fighting is uglier. We train to be able to hurt people and to be able to heal people. This is a very complete system so parts of it look like every system you have ever seen.

  • @41312111 Oh I know there are people out there who train to hurt people. They might have their own misguided intentions to justify it, but that goes against kung fu's principle. So I don't legitimately consider them to be kung fu practitioners. Kung fu is about balance and harmony, making peace inside and out, not hurting people. They might use techniques from the kung fu styles, but they're fighters, not kung fu. I hate to sound like a fortune cookie, but it's hard to explain.

  • @steveecker you'd be surprised, people are different...
