(notes below taken from the jazz festival program)
What do the Parisian musette, jazz and Fritz the Cat have in common? Les Primitifs du Futur! The cult band slings out an eclectic mix of music including gypsy, jazz, rumba, java and swing. Founded by Frenchman Dominique Cravic and American cartoonist-musician legend Robert Crumb, this joyous jamboree placed itself in the avant-garde of French chanson by reviving the old-fashioned charm of '30s Paris.
