  • @MsAlexbobo: To get 16 hp you'll pull a lot of amps and drain your batteries quickly. The motor still takes 11KW of power to push a 10KW gen. The question is can the Bedini circuitry make up the diff in the 2nd battery bank?

    I have run the circuitry very hard at 24 volts to push a 16 HP gen. Blew a lot of transistors to get there, but seeing some very eyebrow raising results. I am using 305 AH batteries that have conditioned over months. They accept a radiant charge very quickly.

  • @4747aaron Aaron, were you running the 10k gen at full power?

    And you must have mounted the transistors directly on the heat sink block to push over 6Amps per transistors I'm guessing. This is what I'll have to do with my boat, otherwise I'm limited to 1-2Amps per transistor.

  • We will be able to run the car or a generator continuasly from the charging batteries or not! . If not, can we use a solar panel to supplement the charging so we can run the motor all the time.

    What about if we use the solar chargers that you have for extra charge. And in cloydy days what is the result 15-20% charging rate.

  • @MALEXIOU1 One battery bank powers the motor and can be supplemented with solar, and another bank charges at the same time. There is another circuit that can be used to run a less efficient one battery system for this motor but it is not yet developed for the size this is rated for.

    Cloudy days can be 15-20% depending on how much cloud.

  • @MALEXIOU1 I change resistors frequently, so there is no specific numbers to give.

    Basically I find myself using 5 or 10 watt resistors. I start with 100 Ohm and work up or down from there watching closely for overheating. 1000 volt, hi amp diodes. Trigger windings I use a higher wattage, aluminum shielded resistor that range from 10 ohms up to 400 ohms @ 200 watts. You have to test each configuration to see what gives the best charging/torque/amp draw ratio.

  • @rickfriedrich seeing the results in the charging bank though made me feel a bit better at the small fortune lost in transistors. The motor can really put some power back into the secondaries very quickly. Generates huge spikes on the scope.

  • @rickfriedrich Not running the gen at full power. My goal was just to get to reach 3600 rpm which should be full power. Only got to about 3200 rpm. Tried plugging in a load and transistors went like popcorn. Water cooling the transistors helps. Waiting on enough batteries to go to 48 volts. Expecting much better test data at 48 volts.

  • The motor is not magic. It is just a good motor. The truly head scratching stuff happens in the batteries. If you pick up one of these motors, I have a bit of advice.

    1. Invest in good eye protection. You'll need it.

    2. Buy the best batteries you can.

    3. Condition your batteries to accept a radiant charge first using an r-charger or larger coiler. (this can take months)

    4. Order a large supply of transistors, diodes and resistors.
