'Django Unchained' Glorifies Slavery?

"The big movie coming out this week isn't a Christmas flick at all, but a spaghetti western set in the times of American slavery. Django Unchained has already garnered a lot of interest for its supposedly super-graphic violence, and now it's coming under fire from director Spike Lee. Lee is calling the film "disrespectful" to African-Americans, accusing director Quentin Tarantino of trying to whitewash and glamorize the days of slavery."*

Quentin Tarantino's latest film, "Django Unchained" has been attacked by right-wingers, but now director Spike Lee opposes it because he believes it glorifies slavery in a spaghetti western. Does the film do that? Will people who view the the film find it achieves something entirely different? Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss it, and Cenk tells us how he really feels about Spike Lee.

the hero who gets the girl at the end , is a SLAVE in the movie .

I do wonder how many& how much Jewish people were given for their reparations? The Holocaust was a horrible time in history but blacks only got an apology they built this country! Nearly 400 years of slavery, then fighting for civil rights, and it's still tons of racism here. Movie my ass. Slavery wasn't a joke, and if you heard the condescending smartass comments on slavery by Tarentino you wouldn't support this movie either.

I really don't get the point you're trying to make here. You have contradicted yourself. There have been other films about the slave trade. The film is not anti white - did anyone major say that him saying that he kills white people for money is a good thing?

Thing is in every media and every news papper white people are branded racist and many people only sems to think white people can be racist. This is the problem i see and this movie is pretty anti-white in my eyes, a black man who only kills white people and hes phrase is "i get paid to kill white people, whts not to like?"

Yeah I already knew that. Why do you feel the need to include that fact when I didn't mention anything about white people enslaving black people is bad. I said enslaving people is bad regardless if they treated them good or bad, same applies to race, i didn't say white people enslaving black people was bad.

Fun fact is black people owned slaves long before the white man did, the slaves in Farao Egypt for example, people only sems to think white people have treated people like this, but the truth is every single race have had slaves and treated them like shit.
