The Judo hold is called Muni gatame. The escape is the basic escape you learn for it. There are other to include an ending with a san kaku (triangle hold) or an arm bar.

cant the guy arm triangle you from there?

@Submissions101 There's two theories. One is, Give every little detail and position a name so the student can "index" everything. The other theory is, don't name anything if you can help it so that there are no labels, or barriers and therefore no limitations. It's the difference between Eddie Bravo and Rorion Gracie. They both have their advantages.

Blue Belt? Is this an older video?

@josh1212121 It definitely works but the setup and hand position from the bottom is different i get it all the time but you have set it up perfect and the timing has to be right, it is more easily countered in no-gi though for sure.

This guy's got smoothness like no other

@carlsongracieteam As you know, there are several names floating around the jiu jitsu world. One teacher will call something one thing and another person will call it another. Typically, none of the names in BJJ had 'specific names' (usually the older Gracie's would just say "do the sweep from cross side and grab the belt and arch ...." quite a mouthful. I know of the other sweep you are talking about its just one of of those things in JJ. Call it whatever you want really.

lol just saying that wasnt very instructional, but i dont think it was intended to be a video. i'd like to see a more instructional video of that sweep. especially becasue it seems like it may be useful in a wrestling sense.

@frkcrashtest That is correct! This was just a promo video. there is an actual video of Professor teaching this. This is a legit sweep and MANY BJJ teachers show this to their students. I've seen this sweep pulled off in comps all the time.
