Bad-assed 1988 Firebird Trans Am GTA

This is my buddies 1988 GTA. It has a 434 Shafiroff motor, Brodix Heads, TPIS Miniram intake and nitrous. Runs 6.55 in 1/8th at 107mph and 10.20s's on the spray at 132mph in the 1/4. New Victor E intake and 1/4 mile times soon to follow. Hoping for high 9s! All of these times are on 275/60/15 Hoosier drag radials. Unreal!

I just rode in this car again recently. Its since had a new 434 Shafiroff motor installed in it. 450rwhp on motor! Thats before the 300 shot of nitrous. This car MOVES!

me and my dad owned a 88 irock and we had a 94 LT1 bored dome tops bigger valves 850 cfm demon everything you could do to one it was done basically we didn't cut any corners on anything and it had the T56 6 speed also with 4.11 Richmond gears and it sounded identical to this car it dyno ed at 430 on engine dyno but that was before we ran it hot 3 times because the LT1 has hoses that run off the back of the head to the intake on the injected motor and dint have them run the right way on the carb

@stephenjray1988 My 355 makes as much power as your 383. How do you run a new motor hot THREE TIMES before finding the problem? Coolant hoses going to the carb? You're an idiot.

@Justinfloogie It's a pretty sweet car bro! I had a 1987 trans am 350 5 speed manual It was mostly stock but it went. lol. now you just need to buff your's or get a new paint job all together.

@redtide0022 Did you put the 350 in? They never came factory with a 350/5 speed car. And im pretty sure my friend is happy with the primer on his car and does NOT want to paint it. Ever. Paint doesn't make the car go any faster!

@SOUTHERNANDPROUD1861 i own the car and all i got from vinnie at shafiroff was the short block. used my heads, intake, & throttlebody. by the way when a motor makes 595 at the flywheel as advertised it's gonna make 480-495rwhp taking into consideration the 18-20% loss through the 700R4 and the rest of the drivetrain. i had the motor built to handle a 300 shot and vinnie knows just as well as i do that if the motor is tuned right for the spray longevity will never be an issue.

@Justinfloogie I just went on the shafiroff web site and there is no 434 cid with 450 rwhp the one thay have is 595 hp so it would make around 540 rwhp and if you hit it with a 300 shot it would blow sky high before to long so watch out spending over 9 grand for a motor i would want it to last.1-800-295-7142 is there phone #.Ive been doen this for about 28 years and i wouldnt hit a motor i paid over 9 grand for with a 300 shot maybe if it was a bigblock.Im not trying to be a smartass.
