1984 Porsche 928S - Muffler Removed

Quick test of my 1984 Porsche 928S to determine source of squealing during revving. Running with clutch plates out, just pressure plate + intermediate plate installed to rule out throwout bearing. I believe the source of the squealing was the throwout bearing hitting the guide tube, not sure how that happened. Only the catalytic converter is hooked up, you can see the muffler hanging off the back.

@riberbentsen Yes, there were several times when I started it up at 10pm while it had exhaust leaks, and once with open headers :)

Now it sounds like the DeLorean time machine from "Back To The Future". Partly because they used a Porsche 928 engine. I just love that roar. :))

That sound wouldn't bother me a bit. I'd love to hear a 928 revved up at least once a day.

@MezoDaMan Absolutely! If you have the money and patience, go for it! 928s are expensive to maintain, but are excellent cars and awesome highway cruisers.
