"McDowells Indian Derby-2010"- Winner "Jacqueline"

Filly "Jacqueline" owned by Mr & Mrs Vijay.B.Shirke, Mr Khusroo.N.Dhunjibhoy and Mr Berjis.Desai, ridden by jockey Richard.Hughes and trained by former champion Indian jockey Pessi.Shroff won the "McDowell Indian Derby-2010" in a record time of "2:28:54". "Jacqueline" was th favourite@ 80/100 odds compared to second favourite , colt "Becket " ridden by british Jockey Martin.Dwyer@ 3/1 odds , besides, there was a unofficial "FAVOURITE JINX" as no "Favourite" had won the "McDowells Indian Derby" since the last ten years. It was one of the best Derby races that i witnessed as the race was decided almost at the "Finish Wire" with "Jacqueline" beating "Becket" by just 3/4 of a length, a race run true to "Horse-Form" and " Racing Statistics".After a decade the majority of "Punters" won while a majority of "Bookie's" lost heavily on "Derby Favourite" bets. In the process, "Jacqueline" set a record by being the first "Filly" to win 4 classics consequetively. Co-incidentally, filly Jacqueline's jockey Richard.Hughes holds the "Guiness Record" as the World's tallest jockey at 5' 9'' in height, just wonder how he manages to maintain his "Horse-racing jockey weight"?The "Indian Derby" is the richest sporting event in India with crores of rupees in "Wagers" and "Prize Money" decided in just 21/2 minutes,! In this video all the contestants are seen returning to the paddock after completion of the "2400 metres derby race". Some of the World's best professional jockeys and Indian jockeys showcased their riding skills on "Indian Derby race day" on Sunday(7-2-2010).The "Mahalaxmi race-course" is one of the World's most scenic race-cources, a green belt amidst a concrete jungle in the heart of one of the World's most populous city. In recent years Industrialist Dr Vijay.Mallya has converted the "McDowell Indian Derby" into a exotic carnival festival week-end holiday with a plethora of entertainment and a chance to experience the "High Life" for a day or two by the common punter.World famous celibrities,Industrialists and common punters all mingle together on "Indian Derby Day".This video gives the viewer a feel of the festive as well as sporting atmosphere at the "Mahalaxmi Race-Course" on "McDowell Indian Derby Day".
P.S:- Thanks to race book "Cole", printed since 1910 that i have managed to edit some of the facts of "Indian Horse-Racing" in my videos run at the "Mahalaxmi Race-course" in Mumbai. "Cole" is an "Encyclopedia reference" for races run by the "R.W.I.T.C", akin to a "Mahalaxmi horse-racing dictionary".
