my 1525 was making this annoying whinning noise, and it would not stop... well after seeing your video and taking the process out and cleaning the filter out the noise has stopped. Basically the 1525 was not getting enough air so it kept the fan at its highest level... not its nice and quiet....
whats creepy, is i put a mac sticker above my dell too.

Machine kept switching off to overheating... found a large lump of fluff stopping the fan spinning.

Thanks for the info, i have a Dell inspiron 1545
The fan has been running constant for a couple of months now and getting fairly hot, it got so loud it was a mare watching a dvd!!
I just pulled out the biggest lump of Fluff you have ever seen. Running sweet again with fan cutting on and of (without noise) on its own.
