Jinki rahi bhaavana jaise, prabhu murathi din dekhi taisye - I did not understand most of this when I watched this as a child on DD1. But I taught myself to read and understand Ram Charit Manas and now when I watch Ramayan - I get such divine pleasure that I can't describe it...
such a beautiful film, hats off to Ramanand Sagar and his crew. Certain scenes and dialogues are soo touching, i remember crying. Especially, the moment when Bharat met Ram in the jungle. I wish i lived in that era for times now are soo different. Now brothers can even kill each other just for material gains.
There is a group called Yakka tribe in sri-lanka, i didn't surprised me at all. In Nepal, we also have a Yakkha tribe belonging to Kirat. The History of Kirat People, 2003 mentioned that a group of Kirat migrated into south India and some moved to Himalayas when Indo-Aryan(people confirming with vedic) started to advance into other's territory.

Ravan was a great King of Sinhalese(Lanka). He fought the vedic aryan who wanted to impose vedic religion on others.
The flag that Ram shot down from Ravan chariot and Laksman shot down from Indrajit respectively in original Ramayana is similar to Kirat flag.
watch the video;
"sakela~the greatest festival of kirat people"
the flag is @0.15.
Kiratas fought Vedic Aryan in the battle of 10 Kings mentioned in RigVeda and again in Kurukshetra War against Pandavas.
