Beck playing Gamma Ray @ Club Nokia on November 10th, 2008, accompanied by Jay Reatard. Reatard didn't know the lyrics and needed an accompanied piece of paper with lyrics on them. You'd think the Reatard would know the words before coming on. Not impressed with Jay Reatard at all.

  • all the people ripping on Jay probably feel bad now

  • youre an idiot. the guy is tryin to look like jack white. get over it.

  • Oh I get it. The raetard guy is campaigning to be the next jack white in his cool fuckin red outfit. Nice job reading those lyrics, guy.

  • I actually went back into his work with the Reatards and found it waaaay better than the stuff he's doing now. His cover of Bummer Bitch is brilliant. I guess I just need to spend more time with it.

  • I'm proud of Jay. He's been playing music since '98, and it keeps getting better.

  • Jay told me BEck invited him to play the show and didn't mention that he wanted him to play this song on stage, then at the last minute, he sprung it on Jay, then Beck's manager had to print out the lyrics really quick.

This was a last minute idea on Beck's part.

They are two great musicians, indie fags who can't listen to anything that's not approved by millions suck balls.

  • what a bunch of assholes.. music is about what you like or what you don't like.. theres no better. just what you like!!

iv never heard the other dude.. but i realy like beck!

  • hahaha I love how he's reading off the paper. I assume it's meant as a prop, as opposed to a memory tool. Do people think he actually forgot the chorus every single time?

And yeah... Jay's version is leaps and bounds better than Beck's. And it's funny that Beck introduced him as "Jay from Memphis" as opposed Mr Reatard. Like the mother of a gay child and his "friend".

  • got to love the note with the lyrics!
