  • You bring up a valuable question. I have a friend here in Jerusalem who wears a Kippa, he's not Jewish, nor is he a missionary, but is a follower of the seven Noachide laws and known as such around the old city where he works. Should he not be wearing a kippa?

Even Rav Ashlag, who was indeed a great kabbalist, saw a need to spread the secrets of the Torah to the masses in a reasonable way

King James Bible (or "old english") = they no (know) not the Torah and practice it not.

  • I must admit, perhaps with a hint of shame, that like you, I also feel righteous indignation at times. Your king James English is interesting. Seriously, there Madonna, Kaballah center, ect, are all reason for even serious concern, but I ask you RikiKeith, on what authority do you make claims about what is permitted or forbidden? I our tradition we usually quote Rishonim, etc.

  • I meant to say someone should not be engaging themselves into anything that is traditionally Jewish if they are not Jewish themselves. The red strings and the "center" are just another fad for these people it seems, and I was expressing my feelings toward such things, I was not speaking with authority. What do you mean by "king James English? Not sure I follow. Shalom and thank you again.

  • Shalom and thank you for your insight and wisdom. "Celebrities" or these the gentiles have NO business playing games with the wisdom of the ancient. They no not the Torah and practice it not. Wearing "red strings" and playing Kodesh is forbidden.
