It was San Francisco, not Oakland in 1989

Correct that. I felt the earthquake personally. The epicenter was in Santa Cruz County at an area called Loma Preita. Worse, Santa Cruz was hardest hit. Could not sleep in fear of some aftershocks, yet the South Bay had it worse. Such memories from a Bay Area native.

The funny thing about this movie is that Lorne Green was cast as Ava Gardner's father...and there was only about 4 or 6 years between them...lol.

It was great but Sensurround caused a lot of damages to older theatres and even not so old ones, u know, cracked walls, headaches, parts of the ceiling falling in little pieces over audiences.
