Review of Dirty Dick's Crab House at Hatteras Landing

Restaurant review of Dirty Dick's Crab House at Hatteras Landing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Dick's replaced the The Austin Creek Grill. Reviews were mixed - flounder and wahoo were alright, lobster meals were not recommended (Dick's didn't even use real butter) and the fried macaroni and cheese was a hit with the kids.

Probably the worst tourist trap of all time, yet it seems to flourish on foolish first timers to this beautiful part of the country. People...this is a disgusting chain who is simply after your hard earned $. Go support one of the true locals who work so hard...Sandbar Grill #1!

You can catch a bad day at any restaurant I love the place. I agree that the Avon restaurant was a little gross! They got rid of the old place and they are building a new one in Avon that should be Clean and awesome. The new Nags Head location is beautiful.

this is the first time i went to a "seafood" restaurant and was totally disappointed. fish was overcooked, rubbery. save a trip. get a t-shirt, then leave. trust me.

We were there the following Friday - July 25th 2008. We sat at that exact same table. I also had the stuffed flounder and crab cakes. I thought it was OK. Restaurant in Frisco is better. Also on Soundside.
