We are simply thrilled to be facing our rival at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden, said Lieutenant Dave Siev, NYPD head boxing coach. We are going to take this opportunity and show the world that not all cops spend their time eating donuts.

The rivalry between the badges began back in 1982 with the all-time record currently knotted at 13 victories per department. The Battle of the Badges returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time since 1986 where the FDNY claimed victory on the evening.
