exploded car battery

happened 7/8/08
- exploded car battery ,farout ,DON'T EVER
- OVER CHARGE YOUR BATTERY
- IT EXPLODED LIKE A BOMB
- I WAS LUCKY THAT I PUT THE BONNET HALF WAY DOWN AS I UNPLUGGED THE CHARGER,THE SPARK MUST HAVE IGNITED THE HYDROGEN.
IT EXPLODED LIKE A BOMB
HALF DEAF FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS
I drove to the mechanic with battery like that

Supposed to hook up to positive first, not negative

the problem was i left it on charge for too long,,,was supposed to put in on charge for only few hours instead i left it on for a whole day. what i should have done was turn the power off at the mains.that would have not given the spark to ignite the hydrogen build up.

You know you may be right... I still love my 88' Camaro though, she's been good to me so far.

@wArningBassist I would say they are indeed pumping out some nice cars compared to their 90's track record....

04 F150 has garbage ball joints... estimated lifetime 80k,

03 F150 has plastic gears to shift the transfer case... ford never resolved this

06 chevy malibu has one of the worst V6's known to man... covered in un-refined casting marks, not to mention the intake manifold gasket has a lifetime of about... 60k

I could go on and on but im running out of characters...

And don't pull out the "oh late 70's through early 90's american cars suck". We know that lol, how do you think the Japanese auto industry became so strong here. I'll admit cars of those era were not very reliable... AT ALL, but the US is currently pumping out some very good automobiles.
