the tv camera views we get of each performance of an athletes effort in their chosen field events is terrible and utterly boring. On our tv screen we get no depth or perception of the length or distance of the throw in javelin or discus, hammer throw etc. All we get is a virtual repeat of a piece of equipment going through the air and then falling a few metres onto the ground.Worst of all is the close up view of the shot put ball going through the air and then plonking onto the ground.
