    Bought this album back in the '70's. Fantastic. This song really hits the spot. Love the line "You must be readin' my mail". It's a shame those two never made a video of this song. It's so easy to imagine them sitting in a dive bar crying in their drinks.

    @cemeterydude: Yeah, Midler covered in about a month after Waits on her 1977 album "Broken blossoms", but it was written by Waits and duetted by him and Midler FIRST. Just cos it's on her album doesn't mean it's her song. It's not, it's Waits' song.
