After photographing the U.S.S Lincoln departing Everett on Wednesday morning from the deck of the ferry Kittitas, I was passing time shooting video of sea birds on the trip back to Mukilteo. When I saw the bobbing, grayish head of a sea lion I kept shooting video, not expecting to see anything exciting.
When the sea lion suddenly struck something, I thought it was just eating a fish, but as the ferry passed by and the sea lion swam off, I looked down and saw a giant, fleshy mass descending down into the Sound as the ferry sailed over the spot. It was not until I reviewed the video and noticed the white suckers that I realized that it was an octopus the sea lion was eating.
At the end of the video, I slowed it down 25%.
I hope I get a chance to photograph this again and actually be ready to get some quality photographs.

Pretty Cool. I've seen tons of Octo's with a few missing arms and it looks like that guy lost a couple!

You guys need to do a small story on the herald.net website promoting your youtube channel, maybe a back page story in the paper, and have exclusive content for youtube, like meet the editor or something. It is possible to generate revenue from youtube but this channel needs more promotion.
