  • Very very cool -- I've been around old tyme music for a while and never seen this insturment played -- you are making a great sound indeed on that stick! Good show! 5 STARS!

  • Thanks.

I lent my Strumstick almost a year ago to my bro' - I really need to get it back and fool around it again!

  • haikumathieu, A wee bit annoyed about nothing, I was merely pointing out the difference, not criticising the artists.

Are you anyway related to Rumsfeld?.

  • I realize my last reply could sound a lot sharper than intended - sorry :-).

BTW - this version of Bonaparte is also called "Sherman's March to the Sea".

And I didn't get the Rumsfeld reference?

  • Good playing but it is not the "Bonaparte crossing the Rhine" air that I know, try lorgain2 for Michael O`Sullibhean`s version.

  • Well, your's ain't the ""Bonaparte crossing the Rhine"" that I know...

For all it matters, it could be "Bonaparte crossing the Rio Grande on an ol' mule with a catfish on his back" that I won't matter, so long as I like the tune ;-)

  • That Sounds SO Cool On Your "Stick Dulcimer".

I Bet You, If You Had Just a Stick , or an Old Potato, You Would Do It Some Justice!! !

  • sounds good! never heard of a stick dulcimer before, looks like a stick-bug or a walking stick

  • This is the American or Old-time version of "Bonaparte crossing the Rhine," as compared to the Irish version of the song. Personally I happen to like the old-time version better. There is also an old-time version of Bonaparte's Retreat and and Irish Version.
