we only had one steel beach picnic and thats on the end of the deploment. Perhaps smaller ships had them more often, but we had fun, although we lost a few basketballs to the ocean.

Having spent 13 years on ships, I enjoyed this video. Steele beach picnics sucked, but were fun at the same time because most everyone came out, had some different food from the regular Mess Decks routine and talked about getting home or whatever. I miss it very much.
