at 1:54...we see Jr Grab the neck of Buddy's
guitar and stop him dead in his tracks, or so
it seems. But this is a smooth bit of slick
showmanship that they had worked out. I've
seen em do this a few times back in the day,
and not just on this tune. This cut here is classic.
So glad it was caught on tape! Thanx for posting

The song's actually called "Home At Last" and was written by the famous R&B songwriter Rudy Toombs. Little Willie John recorded the first version in 1955 and it was covered by James Brown and Sam & Dave in the mid-'60s. When Junior Wells, B B King and Fenton Robinson covered it, they retitled it "Country Girl", Hope that helps un-confuse things.

Bass player is David Myers. He, along with his brother, Louis Myers played with Little Walter on Walter's early Chess stuff. The drummer is Sam Lay, one of the great blues drummers. On Little Walter's stuff in the early 50's, Louis Myers would play the bass parts on his six-string electric guitar while Louis would play the guitar parts. Not many years later, blues guitar greats Robert Lockwood Jr. and Luther Tucker replaced the Myers brothers. :-)
