  • @bsg1206 Let's not pretend that charities aren't subject to the same Fraud/Waste/Abuse as Govt orgs. Red Cross 2005 Katrina scam, 2007 embezzlement, list goes on. Likewise, many of them hardly give 50cents on the dollar after administrative costs. But you're right, the govt programs need reform, they are slow, wasteful, often ineffective. I say cut the worst half (Welfare being #1) and reform the top half. Privatize implementation where appropriate, with strict govt oversight.

  • @silvermediastudio I could do a lot for my country by volunteering or giving to a charity rather than relying on the government to force me to do so while they distribute my money in an ineffective manner.

  • @bsg1206 Because you are part of a nation, a citizen of the USA, which should come before being an individual. Ask what you can do for your country.

  • @playbak Who said that? I'm talking about government-run "charity" where they hand my hard earned money to someone that is too lazy to work.

  • @bsg1206 So by your logic you'll build your own road to get to work. If that road needs to cross a river you'll build the bridge yourself. :S

Why have any government at all??? Lets just all look after ourselves!

  • @playbak Right, they are forcing me to give my money to someone else.

  • @bsg1206 Government isn't asking you to share, but to pay your fair share. There's a difference.

  • Sharing is a wonderful thing, but why should the government force me to do so?
