My mother Johanna was Aristotle Onassis' favorite dancer. He wanted to marry her. She usually played zil but she did this traditional scarf dance in the same act she did her sword dance to "Jezayire." She was a star in NYC and Chicago's Greektown as well. An Egyptian movie producer said she was the best he'd seen on a trip to NY. The music is by Esin Engin Orkestrasi. This style of dancing is authentic of Middle Eastern people before the mass media changed dance styles. This type of dancing is what you would have seen the foreign dancers do at the World's Fairs of the 1890's and turn of the last century.
