@DumblyDorr Venetian Snares is great, but he has lost his touch. Even he says so. The Flashbulb I agree is real good... But not as complex as Xanopticon and much less interesting when intoxicated. As for Jega, I don't know them, but seeing you like great stuff, I'll be sure to check that out.

Certainly, the sound-modulations are subtle, plenty and energetic. I love it. But "a thousand miles ahead? Contra that, I would cite Venetian Snares "Hajnal". Similarly subtle sound-modulations, but entirely different (and broader) set of basic sampled sounds and soundscapes and rhythmically at the very least absolutely on par. IMO Xanopticon/Venetian Snares/Jega/The Flashbulb (especially "A Raw Understanding"), although different, are all pretty much the same level of awesome
