For those of you bitching about this game taking place in Brazil... the noir genre style that has trademarked this franchise DOES NOT equate to New York City. This game is still very much in the cinematic, noir spirit of the previous two games. Get your heads out of your asses. Enough already.

I've played a lot of first and third person action shooter games, but Max Payne 3 is the best third person action shooter for me.

It still has a very Noire feel to it, visuals doesn't create the Noire feel, at least not the entire Noire feel.

They do have a few levels in this game still located in NYC to give us that great nostalgic feeling.

I prefer it this way, I hate how A LOT of game developers just keep remaking the same games but changing the story and putting the number 3 instead of the number 2 on the box.

If I miss Max Payne 1 or 2, I play Max Payne 1 or 2.

Still has a noire aspects, it doesn't have to take place in a city to be a noire.
