This PBS medical series explores illnesses one at a time and features a panel of physicians and other experts assessing individual cases.

Many Americans assume tuberculosis is a disease of the past, but the reality is one-third of the world's population is infected with TB—an estimated 10 to 15 million people in the United States alone. Second Opinion explores this historic disease and what you need to know to protect yourself.

  • nice video...

  • How have they turned this into a discussion about immigrants ?

What is it about living in poverty that makes people more likely to have TB ?

  • hondatek315-"has consistently led to maltreatment with antibiotics"

'Maltreatment' with antibiotics? What do you think is used to treat TB?

  • all the missions that people are opening for immigrants are those 'pockets' too..dont think that just bc its a church that its safe health wise.

  • Interesting yet it fails to highlight the lack of treatment worldwide. Failing to treat it as pandemic has consistently led to maltreatment with antibiotics causing multi drug resistant and extensively drug resistant strains. Before long, TB will be undiagnosable AND uncurable, and closing the borders here in the US won't be good enough to keep it out.

  • He said excellent PUBLIC health system. Not the same thing as the health system for indiviudual care.

  • is there any videos on chest pains on right side an left ????

  • Wow, I never knew 1/3 of the population is infected with TB....

  • There is no such thing as an excellent Health system

  • excellent health system?
