The first round of "Voices Singing Contest" is now closed. The results for this round will be posted on the FFA's channel.

Thank you for your interest in "Voices."

The Contest:

"Voices" has four rounds; the first two rounds are judged exclusively by the FFA while the last two rounds allow community voting to help decide who the winners are. Each round has specific specifications of the kind of song that must be sung.

The Rules:

Please refer to the rules before entering the contest.

1. Songs must be relevant to each round. If a song does not fit the particular specifications of the round, it will not be considered.

2. Songs with objectionable and/or offensive lyrics are not allowed. Use your best judgment.

3. You must be respectful of everyone's auditions. Rude, uncalled for comments on people's videos will disqualify you immediately.

4. Songs must be submitted on time. No exceptions; if you are late, you will be disqualified.

5. Songs must be your voice alone. Duets will not be accepted unless you sing all the parts yourself. If the song is part of a fandub and someone else is SPEAKING, the song may still be eligible.

6. Please use instrumentals with your singing if possible.

7. Please post your song as a video response to this video.

The Rounds:

Contestants will be eliminated from each round. There are three winners, which will be chosen from the contestants who are still in the contest by the fourth round.

Round 1:

In the first round, you may choose a song from either a Disney film or a Don Bluth film. Songs from Dreamworks, Universal Studios, etc. will not be accepted. The song may be an older recording (preferably no older than six months) or a new recording.

Round 2: The song must be from a Broadway musical. The song must be a new recording.

Round 3: You must choose a song from either "The Music Man," "The West Side Story," "Beauty and the Beast," or "The Prince of Egypt." This also must be a new recording. The community will be allowed to vote on this round.

Round 4: The songs for the final round are yet to be determined.

Voting:

Voting will take place on the FFA's channel. The community will be allowed to vote on contestants starting with the third round. Contestant names will be posted on the FFA's channel, and the community may vote for their favorite contestants.

Only vote for one contestant, not two or three. Please note that the community's votes alone will not determine the winners; while they will factor into the final decision, the FFA has the final say.

You may not "vote down" contestants...the amount of "no" votes contestants receive will not affect the final outcome.

Contestants may vote for themselves, although this is not encouraged.

The Winners:

First Place: The winner will receive a subscription from the FFA, will have a video featured on the FFA channel for a month and receive four likes and four comments on videos.

Second Place: A subscription from the FFA, three likes and three comments on their videos.

Third Place: A subscription from the FFA, two likes and two comments on their videos.

The deadline for posting songs for the first round is September 20.

If you have any questions, please post a comment on this video.

Thank you for your interest in "Voices."

Music for this video entitled "Movement Proposition" composed by Kevin Macleod.

  • does Glee original songs count as a musical?

  • @wednesdaywar Do you mean for the next round? As far as I know, Glee hasn't been made into a Broadway musical (yet), so no, that would not count.

  • Hey have a question, what means Broadway Musical for you? Does it have to started in New York? Because for example Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Dance of the Vampires ... started in other towns but played on Broadway

  • @DisneyNaomi Good question. No, it does not have to have originated in New York. As long as it played on Broadway at some point, you can use it.

The only exception to this rule is Disney musicals on Broadway since this round has consisted almost exclusively of Disney songs.

  • When is the deadline? Can't wait to audition xxx

  • @ToujoursLaMusique The deadline is September 20.
