I just learned today that the heel flap pattern Eye of Partridge is a 4 row repeat that gives almost a seed stitch effect, and that what you are describing (the 2 row repeat) does not appear to have an official name but I have seen it called the heel flap stitch. The lesson is superior no matter what but for accuracy's sake I thought it might be worth making this comment. (Maybe we could christen the 2 row repeat stitch the "bird of paradise" ;-))

Ok, sorry I just say the little box saying that it was a purl.

Hi there,
I was watching your video and noticed that you said that the first stitch for the eye of partridge was started with a knit but you purled it and the rest of the them were purled as well. I'm not sure if I'm wrong or not, just wondering.

@AryanaHamilton That is all spelled out in the written pattern that accompanies these videos. Are you working from the written pattern? It is available for purchase and immediate download by following the link just under the video in the video description.
I'm knitting the heel flap like you have instructed and my heel flap does not have the "v" pattern look like yours does. Am I doing something wrong?

@AryanaHamilton The heel flap is just straight back-and-forth knitting, and will not make a V shape. You don't get a shape like that until after you turn the heel. :)

hi, I am having some problems with the heel flap. The eye of partridge stich is on the wrong sid the v's are on the inside of the sock. I am not sure how that happened . Can I turn it inside out?

@Anuyogi09 Yes - you can flip the sock so that the right side is facing out. Then I want you to watch my video called "Knitting Help - Knitting Inside-Out on DPNs". (Sorry YouTube won't let me give you a direct link here in the comments.) That video will explain to you how you're knitting, and how to fix it. :)

@verypinkknits Well that explains alot,Thank You! Can I assume the same is true with circular? Sorry I'm a new knitter!

@Anuyogi09 Yes - correcting your work from knitting inside-out to right side out is the same with circular needles or DPNs.
